In today’s real estate market, many home sellers are
becoming anxious at the length of time their home has been listed on the
MLS. It has been a rough ride for those
involved in selling these homes. There
are many tips you may offer your clients to prepare and improve their home for
a faster sale, but we are offering one more, St. Joseph.
Whether for superstition or faith, a growing number of
people have turned to the "Patron Saint of Real Estate" in the hopes
that he'll deliver, reported the New York Times. After all, desperate times
call for desperate measures. And could covering up a saint with a little dirt
really hurt?
Dubbed the
"Underground Real Estate Agent," St. Joseph statues are an easy solution.
Legend has it that if you bury a St.
Joseph statue in your yard, head down, facing the
direction you want to move, your home will sell more quickly. When possible,
you are suppose to place it near the for sale sign. Then, it's recommended that you put old Joe on
a mantle or other prominent place in your new home, as a gesture of thanks. Or,
just pass it on to a friend.
Well, we will actually bury the statue, upside down, under
the yard sign. Then we will leave the
prayer on the homeowner’s door knob for their use. When we remove the post, we will clean him up
and send him to the address provided on your post removal form.
